Enabling various capabilities to members is easy and momo-membership provides admins numerous wp_capabilities which are unique capabilities & permissions that can be tied to a particular role. In dashboard > WP Capabilities, click “Add New Role” button top. In the popup box, give it a unique number and a name and click on Add Role button. By default, only read-permission is granted to any new role. After the role is created, click on “edit capabilities” button on the right and click on the capabilities listed on the popup box to grant the role those functional capabilities.
With level, a new custom role can be created on top of Wordpress’ default six predefined roles: Super Admin, Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor and Subscriber. By creating a level ( role ), site owners can control what the user with the role can do within the site. For example, if it is an online course website, you can create a “Student” level and give it capability to read posts when they have logged in. Next, you can create “Teacher” level and give it the capability to publish a post.
If a site owner chooses to establish a subscription-based system, they can enable Paypal as a merchant payment processor to accept payments.
All members of the site are listed here, Site owner can manually add members from here and edit info, such as name, email etc of any member or even completely remove them from the site. Furthermore, admin can also upgrade or downgrade the level of any member.
When the plugin is activated first, several pages are installed automatically. These pages are essential to run a membership site and so the system installs them by default.
REGISTER: This page contains the registration form that allows users to submit their information and become a member of the site.
LOGIN: Login page allows registered members a form to login themselves into the site.
LOGOUT: When a member wants to logout, they can use the link in this page.
USER PROFILE: All information of a member is maintained in this page.Individual can edit and maintain their personal information here.
RESET PASSWORD: If a member forgets their password, they can use the form in this page to send themselves the password in their email.
Site user can choose if they want to keep all plugin settings if the plugin is unistalled or delete them forever.
Content restriction can be done depending on user levels. When a new post or a page is created, a custom metabox “Membership” will appear on the right side. This gives site owners the ability to restrict content based on user levels. First a user role needs to be created in Settings > Levels, which will then appear in the bottom dropdown menu under Membership metabox. Then choosing either “Show post only for “ or “Block post only for” from the top dropdown menu, site owners can decide to provide the necessary access to the particular post/page accordingly.
These are snippets of codes that can be added in page to generate the features available.
